The focus of the research is on how real human experts make decisions, particularly under conditions of time pressure and complexity. How such experts organize and use their knowledge management. The purpose of this paper is to survey this research and to discuss pertinent results. These results indicate that more attention needs to be given to problem formulation and asking the right questions, effective use of teams, organization of knowledge, and expanding the scope of expert systems and case-based reasoning. Also the used in naturalistic decision making is readily adaptable to business knowledge management
